Establishment
In May 1934 were hold the constituent meeting of Halikon VPK in the Hajala youth house. Rules were approved in the following year and it has been regarded as the establisment year. There were 34 men present at the meeting.
Initially there were three companies: Halikko, Hajala and Vaskio. At best, VPK has had six stations and at the moment is again three: main station in Märynummi and secondary stations in Kokkila and Vaskio.

Youth department
The boys company, which is the base of the modern youth department, was formed 17/11/1935, leader was Toivo Nieminen. In 1980 the name was changed to the youth department.
Women's department
Women's department was established 7/2/1967. The first chairman was Aili Lammiaho, but already in March Aune Koskinen was elected to chairman.
In the beginning, activities were based on money collection to fund fire department. Women's department for example acquired the boys company fire blankets, emergency medical bags to fire trucks and boots and socks to men. At the parties women handled food services and men managed the program.
Visits and representation has also been a fundamental activity of the department from the beginning. At first visits were done in Salo, which also has the women's department, but in 1970 was womens made a trip at the Aland Island, and the following year in Tallinn. Mikkeli's women's department became departments frendship department in 1975, and there were visited as soon as next year.
Women are provided coffee and rolls to emergency departments training evenings for decades. The camps catering women have taken part in a number of years.
Veteran department
Department's constituent meeting was held in 25/2/2003 and at that time there were 14 members. Mauri Konkola was elected to chairman and Raimo Saari to secretary. Department's comitee was elected at that time Konkola, Saari, Lasse Neulasalmi. From the beginning thel eader of the department has been Mauri Konkola.
Equipments
In the early days money was collected from the summer festivals and other parties. Year 1938 was acquired first portable motor pump, which was placed in a truck. The car was first placed in Hajala, but was transferred to Märynummi at 1939, because the car was used for piglets transport the alarm time, and it was not available for the rescue efforts.
During the war's was Halikko hospital bus at Halikon VPK's use. The post-war period was a difficult time and the fire department was relatively poorly equipped. In the region Agricultural Exhibition Halikko were admitted only men whom equipment was borrowed from somewhere else.
The first actual fire truck was purchased in 1949. The car has a Bedford chassis. 50's VPK aquired Willys fire truck in Vaskio. 1967 were aquired first fire truck that meets the requirements, which has also the first compressed air equipment.
The first car radio was acquired in 1972. The municipality first real fire station was completed in 1975 in Märynummi and the final size fire station was completed in 1991.
Nowadays, VPK has three fire trucks, two tank trucks and boat, as well as its own equipment crew transport vehicle, trailer and Gator.
